EXCLUSIVE: Trump Says He’s Still Good with Mamdani
JUDGE ST — Donald Trump issued a fiery attack on Truth Social this evening, accusing Mayor Zohran Mamdani of “DESTROYING” New York City, after Governor Kathy Hochul announced her support for raising taxes on pied-à-terres for the very wealthy.
“Sadly, Mayor Mamdani is DESTROYING New York! It has no chance! The United States of America should not contribute to its failure. It will only get WORSE. The TAX, TAX, TAX Policies are SO Wrong. People are fleeing. They must change their ways, AND FAST. History has proven, THIS “STUFF” JUST DOESN”T WORK,” Trump posted at 5:22 PM.
But when reached by phone 13 minutes after his post, Trump clarified that the post was strictly a matter of policy disagreement.
Asked if the two had a falling out, Trump told a Judge Street Journal reporter, “No, not at all. He’s going to ruin the city, however. His policies are no good.”
It’s the first time the President has publicly rebuked Mamdani since they met in the Oval Office last November, when Trump embraced the 34-year-old socialist and predicted he would do great things. The meeting shocked the world, and it frustrated Republicans’ plans to turn Mamdani into an electoral foil.
But faced with a political threat that hits all too close to home, the luxury real estate developer has decided he is comfortable throwing a few jabs online without souring his personal relationship with Mamdani.
As Trump told one reporter in the Oval Office in November, sometimes people say things when they’re campaigning. With the midterms approaching, and Bruce Blakeman trying to build momentum behind his gubernatorial challenge to Hochul, Republicans could use a bit of ammo from their leader.
Mamdani has told reporters that he keeps in somewhat regular contact with the President, but he has declined to disclose the specific frequency of their communication.
A spokesperson for City Hall declined to comment for this story.

Donald Trump on the Judge Street Journal:
“Wow. New media. Good. Good ambition.”

I'm surprised Trump knows the term "new media"
